Monetary donations are used for specific needs that foster children or foster families might have. For example, if a foster family takes an infant child as a placement but does not have diapers, car seats, baby monitor, etc.., then EMBRACE is able to buy what is needed for the foster family. The foster system is overwhelmed and every little bit helps.
Gift cards are also a great donation idea. For example, there are many teenagers in foster care who may have never been able to pick out there own pair of shoes or a nice bookbag. In these instances, EMBRACE is able to give the gift card to a child to use for what they may need.
Often, through our Facebook page, EMBRACE will ask for specific items needed. This can be anything from a dresser to hats and gloves. We appeal to the community for these donations. We want to do everything in our power to help our local foster families.
